Jayson Chin
Jayson qualified as an Orthotist Prosthetist over 15 years ago and is the brainchild behind the Medsport concept. Jayson is actively involved in all aspects of the Medsport business and is passionate about the Medsport offering and its indispensible role in empowering consumers to invest in themselves. Jayson runs 2 thriving Orthotics practices as well as co-running both a Prosthetics practice and a non-profit Amputee Clinic.
When not splitting his time between his many work endeavours, Jayson keeps fit by hiking regularly, going to gym occasionally and running after his 2 small children.
Sean Tickner
Sean is a qualified Orthotist Prosthetist and joined the Medsport team after relocating to Cape Town from Kwazulu-Natal. Sean is a South African Bodyboarding champ in his division and a keen sportsman. He’s progressed from trail running to mountain biking and now competes in off-road triathlons. He feels that this enhances his ability to understand the physical demands we place on our bodies and allows him to best apply his professional skills to treat and rehabilitate sport injuries and other disorders. By taking part in various sports he gets the chance to use many of the products offered by Medsport and in doing so has firsthand knowledge of many products and their benefits. Sean has embraced Cape Town as his new home and has become an integral part of the Medsport Team but will always be a Sharks supporter.
Amien Isaacs
Amien is a qualified sport marketer who joined Medsport in October 2010 to handle receptionist duties and offer front-shop support. He has been involved in sport events and sponsorship coordination for the last couple of years. He has also contributed a lot of his time and effort in securing sporting opportunities for kids to trial out at a world renowned soccer academy in Italy. He enjoys most sport but has a special place in his heart for soccer and runs a local street soccer and indoor soccer league where he also participates in. Amien is an AC Milan fanatic and believes they are the best football team in the world.
Marisa Bewick
Marisa offers secretarial support at Medsport. She recently returned to Cape Town after a nine year stint overseas. Her last port-of-call before returning home was New Zealand where she worked for a charitable trust in the health and disability sector as their Company Secretary. In her spare time she loves to read and spend time with her new husband and Siberian husky. By way of exercise, she is an enthusiastic runner, swimmer and “spinner”!
Ursula van Zyl
Ursula is a qualified bookkeeper having completed courses in bookkeeping and financial accounting at Varsity College and the Centre of Management Development. She has been in the book-keeping field for nine years and recently joined Medsport. She is a people’s person who enjoys working with accounts, wants to learn as much as possible and is always up for a challenge.
Mellisa Smith
Melissa is the longest serving member of the team having joined Jayson in January 2005 and fulfils an integral role within the Medsport environment. Melissa’s secretarial experience was gained in the medical field and she now handles the stock and sales system, accounts issues and a wide range of administrative functions. Melissa loves dancing, laughing, listening to music and spending time with her family.
Piet Nel
Piet Nel graduated as a physiotherapist from the University of Pretoria in 2001. He worked in a practice for 4 years of which 2 were spent running his own practice. He has spent time in the hospital environment as well as consulting with out-patients. Since 2006 he has been involved in various business ventures and is currently busy with his MBA at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business. His love for business and sport has directed him to Medsport where he is involved with the administration and operations side of the business. He plans on using his knowledge of business and the medical industry to assist Medsport in growing from strength to strength.
Kryska Groenewald
Kryska is based at the Medsport Store in the Orthopaedic Unit, Vincent Pallotti. She is a qualified Orthotist Prosthetist and has a keen passion for prosthetics. She has worked extensively at the Government Centre in Pinelands and has locumed at various private practices throughout the Western Cape.
Away from work, Kryska loves watching rugby and when not working weekends on call, will make her way to Newlands to watch her favourite team, the Stormers. She also enjoys reading , has a love for art and enjoys spending time with her dog.
